Poster Presentation Guidelines:

  • 3-4 minute oral presentation
  • Must be 3’x4’
  • Must be printed and ready to go by 9 am, Saturday (11/11).
  • Must be at least 20% different from anything previously presented
  • Handouts are optional
  • Primary judging criteria will be on your ability to communicate your research understandably and cohesively. Scientific quality/content will be a factor but will be relative to your education level.

Platform Presentation Guidelines:

  • 12-minute oral presentation, 3-minute Q&A
  • Upload presentation file to ibe.usu Google Drive “Platform” folder by 9 a.m. Saturday (11/11)
  • Upload format: Last_First_Shortened Title.pptx
  • Must be at least 20% different from anything previously presented

T-Shirt Submission Requirements:

  • Design on front and/or back only. No design on the sleeves.
  • Must fit a standard T-Shirt
  • IBE logo must be incorporated into the design
  • When submitting your file name it "lastname-firstname-description"
  • Limit of three entries per participant
  • Due by 11:59 p.m. Friday (11/10)

Photo Submission Requirements:

  • Images must be original
  • Must be submitted as a JPEG.
  • Image cannot be dramatically altered. Minor modifications are acceptable.
  • Image must be science and/engineering related
  • When submitting your file name it "lastname-firstname-description"
  • Limit of three entries per participant
  • Due by 11:59 p.m. Friday (11/10)

Idea Competition Guidelines:

  • Have a great idea for research that you haven't been able to research yet? Prepare and present a 4 slide presentation according to the following format:
  • Slide 1: Introduction to the problem/background (make sure you have peer reviewed sources)
  • Slide 2: Introduction to current solutions (address academic and industry solutions to the problem, including economic factors)
  • Slide 3: Explanation of your idea/solution (imagine that this is a 60 second business pitch)
  • Slide 4: References and acknowledgements. (You do not need to spend any time explaining your references. Just make sure you include them)
  • You will only have 3 minutes to present and 2 minutes to answer questions, so be prepared and practice!
  • Teams are welcome, but the prize money will only be given to the primary author. The team is responsible for fair distribution of the award.

  • Teams of any size are welcome
